business' Storage and Client Access License (CAL) requirements will

Understanding Client Access Licenses (CALs)
Client Access License (CAL) is a term commonly used to manage software
licenses. The unique system requirements of your business will determine
the number of CALs required.
How does ACC Data Vault use CALs?
- Installation on a Desktop OS (such as Windows 2000 Pro, XP
or Vista) = 1 CAL
- Installation on a Server OS (such as Windows 2000/2003,2007 Server)
= 2 CAL
- Advanced Plugins (such as SQL Server or Exchange) = 1 CAL
Disaster Recovery HD Shipments
With ACC Data Vault, your data is stored securely at two locations.
It is accessible 24/7 through any web-enabled PC. In the unfortunate
event of a disaster such as a fire or flood, many businesses want
to obtain a physical copy of their critical data. ACC Data Vault
offers overnight express shipment of your restored data on an external
USB hard drive. You are simply required to provide our staff with
your Encryption Password to allow us to restore your data to hard
drive.
The cost for this additional service is $195.00 and you are required
to return the hard drive (in good condition) to ACC Data Vault within
30 days. A replacement fee of $200.00 is billed for any unreturned
equipment.
What about other sites that offer free backups?
You will find various "free" offers from our competitors. But many
backup services are designed for the end-consumer, and not a business.
Here are a few things to keep in mind when selecting an offsite
backup service provider:
- Am I limited by inadequate storage space or bandwidth?
- Do they replicate their data to a secondary Data Centre?
- Are the features being offered by the service limited? For example:
No support for Open Files, Exchange, SQL, etc.
- Does the service have a limited retention policy - are deleted
files purged from their systems after 15 to 30 days?
- Does the backup provider offer any advanced services that will
protect me in case of a disaster, such as Recovery HD Shipment?
